Sarıyer Square is a historic waterfront hub where all the streets of the district gradually converge. Over the years, the reclaimed shoreline expanded and came to accommodate many formal and informal uses, filling the space yet fragmenting its true public character. The aim of the project is to remove these irregular occupations and reorganize the area as a multifunctional, open, and inclusive public space. In this context, the Atatürk bust and ceremonial area—previously dividing the site—have been repositioned, allowing the creation of a unified central open plaza. The existing trees have been carefully preserved and enhanced, providing a shaded and comfortable urban landscape for visitors. As a result, Sarıyer gains a welcoming, continuous, and high-quality urban square that supports both everyday life and collective events.
