Istanbul Land Walls
The Istanbul City Walls and the urban belt it defines contain many dynamics of the city and is constantly reshaped according to the changing urban conditions. This multi-part structure offers an original, exciting part of the town with its problems and opportunities. Any integrative intervention in this area has the risk of ending the multi-layered dynamism produced by the current unstable urban programs and demands. With this view, instead of proposing a singular design scheme, the project presents an urban design guide and then tests these strategies in six regions.
